February 1 1873 Saturday

            Reese on hand  feeding & choping wood with me at house  Ed sleying to Bowerston & Leesville till night  Cold & raw but splended sleying

 

February 2 1873 Sunday

            At home all day feeding & tending to stock  R.Custer & wife family with Theadore wife & Child here for dinner  a fine clear cold day  Groundhog could see his shadow from morning till night

 

February 3 1873 Monday

            Reese on hand  wet  thawing fast  moving wool forenoon  Reese went to Mansfield  back soon to help at wool  cleaning out stantials stable calf house hog house & bal of day  Ed helping

 

February 4 1873 Tuesday

            Reese on hand  he & Ed hauling corn shocks etc I went to Leesville got boots 1/2 soaled at J.Robey 75 cts paid Robert for them got pants on way to be made J.Robey  high water & bigg flood

 

February 5 1873 Wednesday

            Reese on hand  after feed Ed went to Fouts for  20 bus cole Reese & I at corn  Wm Johnson trim grape vines bal of afternoon husking corn  phillip 1/2 day husking in stable

            Theadore & wife come up in eve before supper Johnson supper

 

February 6 1873 Thursday

            Reese on hand  after feeding Theadore Ed & he went to haul wood  I turned in to make administration acpt  boys hauld in & husked some corn afternoon  Theadore took Lisle Engles

 

February 7 1873 Friday

            Reese on hand  went at corn  I got Phillip to help 1/2  Ed got C.Rogers Squire Johnson in after noon in Leesville

 

February 8 1873 Saturday

            (Written top of page Octob 1rst Joseph Overholts to cash on wool & note $240.00 in presence of H.Wymer)

            Reese on hand  feeding  helping unload corn  turn wool and helping Ed haul wood  after din Ed hauled 1 load to C.Rogers Theadore went home yes eve leaving after 6 1/2 oclock

 

February 9 1873 Sunday

            I at home all day  Robert come up with wool account & my pants cutting & make $1.25 G.Robey made

 

February 10 1873 Monday

            Reese on hand  after feeding he & Ed hauling corn shocks finished _  After dinner I started for Cadiz to settle up Administration estate  stayed over night with S.Osburn 4 miles on this side

 

February 11 1873 Tuesday

            Reese on hand  hauling corn from barn to crib  I.Heaston & J.W. helping Ed husk_  I in Cadiz all day with Judge Lemmon trying to settle up estate  put at Sherman house  there over night

 

February 12 1873 Wednesday

            Reese on hand helping Ed get wood & feeding  I in Cadiz till after dinner  bill for self & horse $3.25  court in session  left for home after 2 1/2 oclock  could not (up)? on account of court for want of counsil  defered till next friday  a week coming 21 rst  home after

 

February 13 1873 Thursday

            Reese & I come to Leesville after feeding trough Bowerston bay horse & Fill to Exprefs bringing Mother to Mikes & going on to cet clothes for Reese vest & pant pattern of moleskin

 

February 14 1873 Friday

            Reese on hand  feeding & haul wood I wrote to Cadiz for Robert ordering check $500.25/100 and mailed it_  ground axes borrowed wagon bed

 

February 15 1873 Saturday

            (Written top of page: Wool refference gave J.J. Smith $55.00 cash for Theadore)

            Reese on hand  after feeding load wool & took to Leesburgh weighed 10,22 lbs Fleces 231 on old invelope mules & brown horses to two wagons

 

February 16 1873 Sunday

            At home all day  dull dreary day  cold cloudy (shofts)? showery

 

February 17 1873 Monday

            Reese on hand  after breakfast took Lathers cow to Overholts bull  come back & made this entry  after dinner I went to Leesburgh Ed to New Market  Rees haul corn from barn & husked some what (wan)? took letter I received from first N.Bank of Cadiz to show R.H.Sm how promptley honord for $500.25  I gave J.J.S. for Theadore on last saturday $55.00 that he borrowed to pay out his Mules

 

February 18 1873 Tuesday

            Reese on hand  haul dung after feeding  Ed helped some S. Osburn here after dinner_  I went to show Phil Smilley some trees to chop in evening

 

February 19 1873 Wednesday

            Reese on hand  forenoon feed & chop wood  after dinner haul load hay over to sheep then to haul stone to W.Johnson  went at 3 oclock  haul 2 loads till night  Reese to cash at night $1.00 on going to Bowerston

 

February 20 1873 Thursday

            Reese on  forenoon choping up clabord tree top  after noon haul load hay to Edward  I started to Cadiz  got to John McPeeks there that night

 

February 21 1873 Friday

            I went from McPeeks to Cadiz  I went to Lemmons first to make ready to settle Robert Smith's Estate  commenced after dinner & got done at night_  Went to Bank & drew $200.00/10 dollars two hundred Lewton kept on Sheppards bill again Estate for nothing  paid Hern for printing                     $95.00

February 22 1873 Saturday

            Reese on hand  haul wood with oxen for Ed & us  I left Cadiz after breakfast  dined with McPeck on way home cold and frough disagreeable trip

 

February 23 1873 Sunday

            Extremely cold & rough  at home all afternoon  dined with G.W. Adams  a good dinner

 

February 24 1873 Monday

            Extremely cold & rough  Rees on hand  after feeding he & I went to M.Allbaugh shop to get George & Frank horses shod but failed

 

February 25 1873 Tuesday

            Moderated some after doing the morning feeding  Reese and I went to Leesville to get brown horses shod  Reese for his vest & pants  Bakers bill of 8 removes & sharps & 4 flat toes on George horse $1.40 which I told Robert to pay & charge to me one dollar & forty cents

 

February 26 1873 Wednesday

            Reese on hand  went to help Mike & Dan trash cloverseed  there till near night  I bailed Joseph on note yesterday to Aim Carnes for $108.00  runing one year  Robert & Tresket come here just at night to see brown horses  stayed all night

 

February 27 1873 Thursday

            Reese on hand  choping & haul wood with Edward  I went to Fierbaugh after noon  they went to Leesville with hay  Mansfield here yesterday for quarterage  I at home all day only while at Fierbaughs

 

February 28 1873 Friday

            Reese on hand  went to Leesville after dinner for load cole 15 bus got of Price by Robert char to me & some tobacko for (moth)? & I say 30 cts worth besides the cole which would 1.20
